Debbie Hartmann Photography

Hello!

I carry a Fujifilm and work on a Mac. I love puffy cheetos and Green Tea.  I love long naps and relaxing bubble baths.  I like dark brown leather furniture, antique cameras and white bookshelves full of books. I like a full wine rack, people with a great sense of humor, my beautiful red canoe, and friday nights with a few beers around a roaring fire.

I am completely addicted to beautiful art and photography.  I carry a camera with me wherever I go.  Taking and making photographs excites me and I can lose myself for hours in the creative process.  Many of my photographs were taken in my beautiful state of Minnesota.  I find peace and serenity in nature and I love to share those moments with others via my photographs and art.

I love to canoe or kayak, or just be by the water anywhere anytime. I have been paddling the Boundary Waters Canoe Area with a friend for 33 years and feel completely lucky to have experienced this journey repeatedly in my lifetime.  Three years ago I joined a Dragon Boat team.  This simple decision has changed my life and has made me a better and stronger person.  There is nothing as satisfying to me as being part of a team.

If I am not paddling, then I love to be walking with my camera in the woods. If I am not walking in the woods, then I like to be on the deck with a book. I read a lot. I love adventure novels, computer books, memoirs, photography books and Simpsons comics.

My best friends and family are my greatest blessings and I often express my love for them through my photography. It is how I speak without words.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my images. It was my pleasure to capture them and share them with you.

Artist Exhibits

Many of my photographs were taken while paddling and hiking around beautiful Minnesota.  I have been lucky enough to have been paddling the Boundary Waters Canoe Area for 32 years and exploring local Twin City lakes and the Mississippi River areas.  My photographs exist as a reminder to us all that there are secret moments in nature happening all around us all the time.

Below is a list of various locations around the Twin Cities where I have had my photographs displayed.  I am always on the lookout for places to show my photographs to others in the printed form.  Please let me know if you know of a venue that you think my photographs would be perfect for.
